Built about 200 years ago, Guinot Bas is a spacious converted cattle barn in the Lot et Garonne department of south west France. Converted just 3 years ago, it offers the very highest quality exclusive accommodation for up to 8 people. At the same time as providing the modern living standards one would expect in your own home, we have retained most of the original features giving Guinot Bas that real “wow” feeling.
Situated just a 15 minute stroll from the village of St. Barthelemy d’Agenais, it stands in grounds of nearly 1 acre, and has fantastic views over the surrounding farmland.
Everything about Guinot Bas is of substantial
proportions from the massive 16” thick exterior walls built from locally
quarried sandstone to the ancient interior beams which are literally trees
with the bark stripped off. The total living area is in excess of 180 sq.m.
A cool refuge during the hot summers, the massive stone walls help to conserve
heat during the cooler winter months. Winter heat is provided by a combination
of a large wood-burning stove and electric radiators
